Every June, children from ages 4 to 17 attend Camp I`m Still Me at the Scottsville Camp and Conference Center. This donation-funded camp is for pediatric and adolescent burn survivors from all over Louisiana, Texas and surrounding areas. The campers enjoy a variety of activities during the week including fishing, swimming, sports, crafts, etc. The camper to counselor ratio is 4 to 1. Counselors and other staff members include doctors, nurses, physical therapists, social workers, firefighters and adult burn survivors.

The Camp was founded in 1992 and was originally held in Louisiana. When it outgrew that location, it was moved to the much larger facility in Scottsville, Texas.

Camp I`m Still Me is made possible every year solely through private donations made to the nonprofit Percy R. Johnson Burn Foundation. Dr. Kevin Sittig, director of the burn foundation, and Terrie Sullivan, camp director, say its healing legacy can only be continued with the ongoing generosity of people like YOU!

The Percy R. Johnson Burn Foundation opened the Chaler-Rods House in June 2003. The house, at 1457 Claiborne Avenue in Shreveport, Louisiana, is located within walking distance of the LSUHSC Burn Unit and provides lodging for relatives of patients from out-of-town who are being treated in the burn unit. The Chaler-Rods House provides a `home away from home` where a family member can stay while the loved one is healing. The fully furnished 3 bedroom house has a communal kitchen/dining space and a laundry area. Each bedroom can accomodate two people. The bedrooms each have a vanity sink, television and telephone. In the kitchen area are dishes and other cooking items.

Rooms are provided on a first come, first served basis and priority is given to those relatives living outside a 20 mile radius of the hospital. Rooms are provided free of charge, but donations for house maintenance will be accepted. The house is not a part of the LSUHSC hospital and is owned and maintained by a local non-profit organization. The Chaler-Rods House has been made possible by charitable donations and fundraisers. The Burn Foundation does not receive federal, state or city funds.

Donations in the form of cash, check, or supplies are gladly accepted. Donations can be left in the Burn Unit or mailed to:
